PURE NATURE.

A whole host of walking trails lead straight out from the hotel door. The Unterstell cable car takes you up to the hill walker’s paradise of the Naturns Sonnenberg Mountain, where’s something to suit every taste: Idyllic mountain pastures, dizzying heights, easy walks along the Waalweg (old irrigation channels) or a wander amongst the Mediterranean palms….

IRRIGATION CHANNEL WALKWAYS.

The irrigation channel walkways are historical trails alongside small irrigation ditches. Characterised by gentle inclines, they are suitable for year-round walking. The trails pass through vineyards, orchards and woods and do not require any strenuous effort required. They are also great for kids.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL
WALKING TRAILS.

In the footsteps of the ice man:
Schnals Valley – Vinschgau – Passeier Valley – Ötz Valley.

The sensational discovery of Ötzi the Ice Man, who appeared from the snowy glacier after over 5,000 years in the Tisenjoch at 3,210 m, has kindled the search for erstwhile human activity in high-altitude regions. The archaeological walking trails invite you closer to the mountains, to think less of consumerism and to try to gain a better understanding of the settlement-story of the Alps. There are seventeen archaeological trails in total, numbered consecutively. Along the ancient trail beaten out by hunters and by deer, important archaeological finds dating back to prehistoric times have been discovered.
